Swedish Match is looking to recruit a Research Scientist to join the Product Science team which is part of the Regulatory & Scientific Affairs department within the company. About the position
As a Research Scientist, you will be part of the Product Science team which consists of eight colleagues and report directly to the Senior Manager of Product Science. The Product Science team supports the Swedish Match organization in key areas including scientific knowledge, research projects, scientific studies and nicotine science. A large part of the position involves physical product knowledge.
Your main responsibility areas/tasks include:
- Plan and implement projects and research work within the group’s business area.
- Evaluate product data regarding chemical content and stability.
- Characterization and simulation of physical product parameters.
- Bridging product data.
- Perform investigations within cross-functional projects and competitor monitoring.

Your profile
Key qualifications for the position include:
- MSc or PhD in the areas of chemical engineering, inorganic or organic chemistry, physical chemistry or relevant disciplines.
- Experience from a similar role in a relevant industry e.g pharmaceutical, food industry, chemical or laboratory.
- Good competence in product chemistry.
- Experience of product characterization and stability.
- Good understanding and experience of applying research methodology effectively.
- Understand and, in consultation with colleagues, be able to draw conclusions from chemical issues.
- Good knowledge Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Understanding of intellectual property rights from a scientific perspective is a strong plus.
- Computer skills and knowledge of statistics are meritorious.
