Position Overview:
Are you passionate about driving health, safety, and sustainability initiatives? Do you have a strong background in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management? If so, we want you to join our team at Smurfit Kappa Scandinavia as our HSE Implementation Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs across the Scandinavian region, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards. This operational role will require hands-on support for local sites, including frequent travel to provide HSE support to all Smurfit Kappa locations in Scandinavia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and programs for the Scandinavian region.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Organize and lead HSE audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide training and support to sites and employees on HSE best practices.

  • Support local sites with incident and accident investigation.

  • Collaborate with local HSE managers to develop and implement HSE standards.

  • Prepare and submit required HSE reports and documentation.

  • Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Monitor sustainability data and ensure accurate reporting.

  • Analyze environmental and sustainability data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Support the sales organization with sustainability requirements from customers.

  • Provide expert support on internal tools for sustainability and health and safety.

  • Offer hands-on support and training for local sites in health, safety, and environmental matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within the manufacturing or packaging industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.

  • Experience organizing and leading audits.

  • Willingness to travel regularly to support all Smurfit Kappa sites in Scandinavia.

  • Fluency in Swedish, Danish, or Norwegian, and English.
