Fraunhofer IWES, Bremerhaven

Fraunhofer IWES, founded in 2009, has more than 500 employees working in the field of wind energy and energy system technology. The operating budget reached 30.5 million Euros in 2013. Fraunhofer IWES possesses extensive testing and experimental facilities, laboratories, and state-of-the-art equipment. Our expertise has allowed us to develop and introduce new testing facilities and test methods. The institute is a well-recognized partner for development and project cooperation on an international level. Its employees contribute their expertise to standardization bodies and guideline commitees.

IWES Northwest, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Reuter, covers all physical and engineering aspects of wind energy generation and utilization. Comprehending the wind energy turbine as a system with dynamic interactions between the individual components and environmental factors creates synergies for complex solution approaches. The processes of IWES Northwest are conform to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 standards
