Fraunhofer IOSB, Ilmenau

The Advanced System Technology (AST) Branch of Fraunhofer IOSB develops innovative and practical solutions for the power and water supply industries, researches on autonomous underwater vehicles and hardware and software design of embedded systems. The Fraunhofer AST develops for small and medium-sized companies as well as major enterprises and public funders high performance scientific-based applications, which are not only recognized in Thuringia but also internationally.

Customers of the Fraunhofer AST include international groups such as ABB AG, family owned enterprises e.g. Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH, companies e.g. ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH Bremen as well as utility industries such as DONG Energy Germany AG, natGAS AG, TenneT TSO GmbH or SWE Energie GmbH.

The Fraunhofer Application Center System Technology AST has two main departments: Energy and Water and mobile Systems.
