European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM)
SEMM is a private Foundation for higher education in biomedicine, established in 2001 by a joint ministerial decree of three Italian Ministries (Health, Treasury, and University & Research).
SEMM:
- promotes training and research within emerging sectors of biomedicine, such as genomics, molecular medicine, nanotechnologies and bioethics
- operates within centers of excellence and promotes the integration of basic research and clinical practice
- collaborates with Italian Universities to create its training programmes
- has an international outlook with its 22% of foreign students and postdocs coming from many different countries: Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Kenya, India, Iran, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Nigeria, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, Turkey and the USA.
