The Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and implementation of control systems for our electrolysers and process equipment. You will work closely with mechanical, process, and electrical engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle—from concept and development to testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new PLC based automation solutions
- Maintain and update existing control systems
- PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g. CODESYS,TIA Portal)
- Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA solutions
- Design of safety system (e.g. safety PLC, safety relays)
- Support commissioning, startup, and validation of equipment
- Work with instrumentation, sensors, valves, and process control systems
- Participate in risk assessments and safety-related system design
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Develop technical documentation, electrical schematics, and operating procedures
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Support compliance with relevant safety and industry standards
Background and qualifications
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar
- Experience working with different programming platforms such as CODESYS and TIA Portal
- Experience in industrial automation and control systems
- Understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks
- Fluent in Swedish & English, both written and spoken
- Experience in process industries, such as chemicals, gases, energy, or manufacturing
- Experience with safety PLCs and functional safety systems (e.g. IEC 61511, IEC 62061, ISO 13849)
- Knowledge of pressure systems, gas handling, or process equipment
- Experience with commissioning and field installation activities
- Familiarity with CE marking, Machine regulation, ATEX, PED CRA or other relevant directives
- Experience with Siemens WinCC or other SCADA platforms
