Product Manager - AXIS OS

We are now looking for a Product Manager to join our Platform Solutions team within the Solution Management department.

Platform Solutions work with our two core software platforms and some general services and tools. Our edge software Platform, AXIS OS, resides on and runs our devices, and our Service Platform adds service capabilities as an extension to our devices to support other solutions. You will be responsible for AXIS OS and its role in supporting hardware sales and solutions, working closely with Product Manager for AXIS OS Cybersecurity.

As Product Manager you drive the AXIS OS offerings both from a platform point of view and connected functionality. You work in a team with a Product Manager, a dedicated team of Product Specialists and cooperate closely with a R&D Managers with dedicated teams for development. A key responsibility is to build your network towards our sales regions and their customers to build knowledge of their needs and where we can build value.

As Product manager you will be responsible for the roadmap within AXIS OS in cooperation with R&D, revised every 6 months. You act as orderer towards R&D and assure a close market interaction in what we do. In cooperation with Marketing and Sales you bring our functionality and story to the market and build their knowledge over time. You are a key contributor to the yearly product portfolio strategy that aims to build on to our already strong brand around AXIS OS.

The AXIS OS offering you will be responsible for consist of:

  • Supporting internal and external ecosystem of solutions, with market leading features and APIs
  • Camera competitiveness as a smart, integrated, and connected device, adding differentiating features that is relevant for a major part of the Axis portfolio
  • Lifecycle management, our software support structure for the Axis portfolio, including multiple AXIS OS releases each year and bi-annual Long-term support releases

To manage this there are several structures and relations to work with and maintain, some you must build.

  • Your own direct relations to System Integrators and End Customers
  • A close network of key individuals within sales that you openly can test ideas and develop insights with
  • A core team within Platform Solutions to bounce and develop ideas with
  • Your Product Specialists and R&D counterparts where the detailed features are developed

As Product Manager your specific role is to:

  • Participate as key contributor to our portfolio strategy once a year
  • In cooperation with R&D drive and set the roadmap for AXIS OS revised every six months
  • Order new functionality according to the roadmap. Guide, prioritize and assist in the development work
  • In close cooperation with your colleagues and management build and develop the market relation structures defined above
  • Build and drive a close partnership with marketing to create pull on our device portfolios driven by our story in the market
  • Drive internal communication towards sales and marketing to drive knowledge around AXIS OS offering
  • Drive the knowledge building in your R&D organization to understand the market and help in creating direct market relations for R&D

Networking internally and externally is a key function of the role, and we travel to strengthen relations but focus on digital media to become efficient. Travelling up to 20 days a year.

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual with broad experience from the IT and/or Security Market and system design. You understand business built on partners and ecosystem dynamics. You strive to understand IT technology and our partners needs but are motivated by solving real problems with what is available. Your real passion is to help partners create and win business.

More specifically

  • At least 10 years work experience and documented experience from working close to partners.
  • You are a good communicator, it is easy for you to structure, express and document your thoughts and plans. You drive the process to refine them with others and are used to working with a broad network of people
  • You have software development experience and big interest in technology
  • An understanding of an indirect sales model based on an ecosystem to deliver the full system, preferably with direct own experience
  • A business mind and understanding the different roles in an ecosystem
  • A strong personal drive and focus to reach the goals, still acting with the insight that you need others onboard and motivated to succeed
  • Excellent English skills, written and verbal

Solution Management is globally responsible for the solution offering, sales support, and professional services. This includes product, service and roadmap management for device capabilities, device management, software, analytics and end-to-end solutions. In addition, we offer the regions project sales support and partner interface in technical and connected strategic matters. Platform Solutions is one out of five groups within Solution Management.
