Doctoral student in Data-driven engineering of networked systems

Publicerad 2021-04-18

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key centre of intellectual talent and innovation. We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Our research and education covers a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history and philosophy.

Project description

Third-cycle subject: Third-cycle subject: Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

The objective of the thesis project is to develop concepts and algorithms for prediction, forecasting and decision making in networked systems using AI and ML techniques. Of particular interest will be ML and decision-making algorithms for distributed data sets: in large-scale systems data sets and nodes are distributed, and the dimensional of data sets can reach millions. The nodes may not be able to share data due to the large data volumes, preventing central collection of data in a timely manner. The distributed nature of the system requires scaleble learning methods that adapt to various network sizes, also when the nodes have limited computational resources

Supervision: The doctoral student will be supervised by: Professor Rolf Stadler
