Your role
This is your chance to be a foundational part of an innovative startup team, in a high-impact, hands-on role. You'll be the go-to expert who gets to help shape our mechanical engineering function, overseeing the process from the first sketch to the final, working physical product delivered to the customer.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want a role where you literally see your designs go from an idea to a vital, tangible piece of technology, this is it.
What you'll do
- Design & Model: Develop mechanical designs for complex components like antennas, enclosures, and motor housings. You'll use CAD software (like SolidWorks/OnShape) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing, ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory standards (e.g., MIL/ECSS).
- Analyse & Optimise: Conduct crucial structural and thermal performance analysis (using tools like Ansys/Comsol) to refine and validate your designs, ensuring they meet rigorous requirements for performance and durability. You'll also automate analysis processes.
- Manufacture & Test: Oversee the prototyping and production of your designs, managing external manufacturing partners and ensuring quality. You'll develop and execute test strategies and procedures, correlating test results with your analysis data to validate the final product.
- Collaborate & Manage: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration. You'll also support project execution, documentation, and the standardization of parts through component library management.

Additional Requirements
- Good written and spoken English communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to formulate technical issues and solve them independently.
- Creativity and ability to work independently.
- Open-minded, eager to share knowledge, new findings, ideas and experience.
